So Long

Sorry it's been forever since we blogged. We still have no keyboard, so it makes it...well, impossible...to blog. Yeah, I suppose I could sit and double click each letter, copy and paste for a few hours...but I have other things I have to do with my life, so that ain't happenin'. Anyway, Michael's sister is getting a new computer soon, and she's going to give her "old" one to us...HOORAY!!! In the meantime, we had a slow day at work so I logged out early, waiting until Michael can leave at closing, to take time to blog.

So since our last blog, things have changed a bit...or a lot more things have happened to us. Let me try to get you up to date.
Michael is doing great. He stopped that second drug they had added that made him "drunk"-feeling. They tried another one, but it did other odd things to him so he stopped taking that one, too. He's just been on the Depakote and doing fantastically. We are happy to announce no seizures since that first week, and NO MIGRAINES...that is a total bonus. The doctor says they count a migraine medicine "working" if it stops HALF of the migraines...but Michael has been migraine-free...in fact, almost completely headache free!

As for our Thunder, we still miss him, but of course, we're moving on just fine. Michael's mom got a llama to guard her new alpacas, but "he's not Thunder" and she's also having trouble adjusting. Snickers has not been worked with and will bully whoever lets him. Momma keeps saying she's going to put a bow on him and call him mine, but since he'd still be in her pasture, it wouldn't make any difference...hehehe. I enjoy working with Snickers because he is definitely a challenge, but he does make me miss Thunder more sometimes. The neighbor (Shawn & Crystal) who owned the dogs wanted to keep them, so of course it all had to go to court. The judge asked Shawn if he denied his dogs killed Thunder and he said no. Then the judge asked if he admitted his dogs did, for sure, kill Thunder and he said yes. The judge didn't need to hear any testimony, any discussion, he immediately declared them dangerous dogs and they're gone. Don't know if that meant they had to be put down or if they just had to removed them from the county. However, the neighborhood is apparently worried about Shawn and what he might do to them. One person heard him on the phone outside yelling about how he wasn't afraid of anyone of his neighbors, wasn't afraid of anything, wasn't afraid of going back to prison (has been there for drugs previously). So, everyone is a little worried about retaliation, especially for the neighbors that own the goats that Thunder had been guarding.

Blake is doing really well. He's going to be starting basketball in a couple weeks, which he's very excited for. We had parent/teacher conference today. He's getting higher than average marks at school (science, math, reading, etc.)...no real surprise there, since we all know how smart he is. He does have problems with talking in class and turning in homework. Wwe think his teacher this year is very good and with us encouraging him to let other children learn while she's talking and the way she is able to communicate with him, we may be more successful this year than we have in the past. He also informed us that his previous bestbest friend is no longer his friend at all. He had been talking about inappropriate subjects and using bad language and Blake decided he didn't want to be around that anymore so he told him he wasn't spending time with him anymore. HOW PROUD ARE WE!?

Our pets are all doing well. They are all healthy and happy. Sometimes the dogs can get a little too happy...excited...crazy..."deaf"...but we love them anyway! Our home is very nice. We're refinancing so Michael and I are the owners on the mortgage, instead of he and his bro & sis. Oh, Travis (Michael's bro) has been happily married for almost a year and their first daughter will be born in about a month...SO EXCITING! It's nice to hear how happy Travis is...he didn't appreciate me butting in and taking his brother away. :)

Okay, looks like my time is up...doors are locked, lights are out, phones are switched to message...time to go home!!!! YEAH!!! We will hopefully be blogging more regularly with pics, soon!
