A Very Serious Request For Prayers

At midnight on Saturday, Michael collapsed groaning to the couch, gripping his head. I didn't insist he go to the ER until Sunday after talking to his mom and learning that there is a family history of aneurysms. They did a CAT Scan & spinal tap. They found no masses or major blood & the tap found no blood in the spinal fluids, but did find elevated protein. They ruled out meningitis because the spinal fluid sugars weren't low, but they can't rule out MS yet. We went to his family doctor Monday who ordered a MRI (superior for the brain to CAT scan) and MRA (to scan for aneurysms), which he will have under IV sedation on Thursday. In the meantime, he goes through stages of the weird, empty, electrical feeling in the back of his head to headaches and migraines, back and forth with periods of feeling almost normal. He has a personal history of migraines, but this was very, very different: more of an absence of pain where he thought there should have been a great deal of it. He's scheduled to work Wednesday with light duty, but we'll see how he does. I am free to cover his shift if necessary, so that makes me feel a little better. I'm more worried about him driving. Please just pray as often as you can for him, and for all of us. We should have answers about the tests early next week.
